Operating Management

Dr. Gusztáv Bártfai

CEO, Director of Business Development

Dr Bartfai graduated in electronic and computer engineering at the Technical University of Budapest, where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1999. Prior to joining AnaLogic, he held R&D management positions in the telecommunications and automotive industries. At Ericsson, he led software development projects -- ranging from 3 to 10 man-years -- for the management of 3G mobile networks. He also pioneered the introduction of a number tools and processes in software technology. At Volcano Automotive he managed development projects delivering hardware and software tools for high-end in-vehicle networking solutions to premium automobile manufacturers. Before his move to industry, Dr Bartfai held a senior lecturer position in computer science at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, for 9 years. He is the author or co-author of 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers on artificial neural networks including cellular neural networks. He is currently involved in teaching a graduate course on sensing-computing machines at the Pazmany Peter Catholic University. He is a member of the IEEE Computer and Engineering Management Societies. He is married with two children, likes playing soccer, and is keen on cycling and travelling.

Dr. Ákos Zarándy

Co-CTO, VP of Technology

Dr Ákos Zarándy, one of the founders of AnaLogic, served also as the CEO of the company during its first five years. He is currently the Co-CTO and VP of Technology for both AnaLogic and Eutecus, focusing on core technology related developments. Dr Zarándy spent 15 years with the scientific research and development of various cellular array processor architectures, implementations, and applications. He obtained his PhD from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. During his PhD studies, he spent more than 2 years at the University of California, Berkeley. He led several successful research and development projects, including vision system development, locally adaptive sensor development, and solved ultra high-speed vision problems. Dr Zarándy had introduced and patented an image processor system architecture, and took part in the development of patented vision system. He is married, has three sons, likes playing soccer, rowing, and bicycling.

Dr. Csaba Rekeczky

Co-CTO, VP of Research

Dr. Csaba Rekeczky has been working on cellular visual technology related research and development areas for more than 10 years and is a co-founder, managing partner and Co-CTO of both AnaLogic and Eutecus. He is also responsible for directing and synchronizing the core research activities with different academic entities. He holds a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and computer science and is the author or co-author of more than 100 publications, of which 24 have been published in peer-reviewed sci-journals and more than 50 in conference proceedings. In recent years he has directed several large scale research, system and software development projects related to medical and industrial imaging. Most of these activities were also related to a technology transfer process from an academic environment to industry and significantly contributed to the birth and expansion of AnaLogic/Eutecus. Dr. Rekeczky has lived, worked and taught in several countries including Japan and the USA. He has teaching experience in nonlinear dynamics, emerging computations and visual microprocessor technology (Budapest University of Technology and Economics, University of Tokushima and University of California at Berkeley). He is a member of the IEEE and program committee member of several upcoming conferences. He served as an associate editor of the IEEE-CAS in 2003-2004. His research interests and competencies include early vision techniques, nonlinear and adaptive filtering, image segmentation and fusion, multitarget multisensor tracking, and cellular neuromorphic computation. He is married, has a daughter, and enjoys playing table tennis, soccer and piano.
