Video Analytics - Indoor Security

Powerful Algorithms for Behavior Classification in Security/Surveillance

Highlights

Automatic identification of a wide range of different behaviors

Technology Components

InstantVision ISE Components:
  • Signal and Image Processing Library (SI Lib)
  • Signal and Image Flow Processing Library (SIF Lib)
  • Multitarget Tracking Library (MTT Lib)
The algorithms can also be embedded in intelligent cameras (such as AnaLogic's and Eutecus' Bi-i V301) in the form of DSP programs and - for even faster execution - in FPGA IP blocks.

Application Area

Security/Surveillance

Description

This demonstration showcases several of AnaLogic's and Eutecus' video analytics algorithms for an indoor security system. Video analytics are software applications that identify a range of behaviors and then alert human security staff to investigate them more closely. Because software does not get tired or bored like human guards do, video analytics can greatly enhance the effectiveness of a security team.

In this demonstration, the following behaviors are detected:
  • Person entering secure area (on right door)
  • Person exiting secure area (on right door)
  • Loitering
  • Abandoned object
  • Removed object
  • People counter (on left door)
Each algorithm can be easily adjusted to the exact specifications of the user. For example, how long someone has to remain in an area to be considered a loiterer.
